A teacher of God is anyone who chooses to be one. His qualifications consist solely in this; somehow, somewhere he has made a deliberate choice in which he did not see his interests as apart from someone else's. Once he has done that, his road is established and his direction is sure. A light has entered the darkness. It may be a single light, but that is enough. He has entered an agreement with God even if he does not yet believe in Him. He has become a bringer of salvation. He has become a teacher of God.
—ACIM Manual for Teachers 1:1
The Teachers listed below are independent A Course in Miracles teachers at the Rocky Mountain Miracle Center. At the RMMC we celebrate a diversity of backgrounds and teaching styles with a common goal of studying and living the principles of A Course in Miracles. You may hear different viewpoints at our Sunday gatherings and in the classes. Each teacher and class offers something unique. We encourage you to experience several to find your best fit. Each teacher has written a short introduction to themselves below so that you may get a sense of their experience with and approach towards A Course in Miracles.
Christine L. Dixon-Bubick
Christine was born in a suburb of Lille, France and lived there during World War II. She is a war orphan whose father died for France at the beginning of the war when she was two. She has vivid memories of the war and France’s liberation. At seven she immigrated to the United States with her brother and mother and she still recalls the shock of losing her culture, family, and language.
Raised Catholic, Christine clung to the Catholic Church as her only lifeline when she arrived in the U.S., hardly questioning its teachings until she married and became a mother. She then began to question the validity of the Christian god who was both loving and vengeful. This god demanded illogical obedience from his children and punished them for their ignorance and weaknesses–weaknesses he supposedly gave them to “test” them. She eventually fell away from the church and began her spiritual quest.
In 1986, after much research and study, pain and misery, she stumbled onto A Course in Miracles. It resonated with her immediately. She studied the Text and worked through the Workbook three times before venturing into published interpretations, particularly Kenneth Wapnick’s work. She led groups in her home. Still, it was many more years before she understood she was trying to make the Course fit into the dualistic learning she had accumulated. Studying Ken Wapnick’s material helped her begin to comprehend the metaphysics of the Course as non-dualistic, just as the God of the Course is non-dualistic. Changing her concept of God made all the difference.
Christine leads a group at the Rocky Mountain Miracle Center on Friday afternoons. She leads on Sundays on a rotation basis, has served on the Board of Trustees, and is currently involved in developing The School Of Reason to benefit teachers and aspiring teachers of A Course in Miracles.
Bud Ham
Bud was born on a ranch near Carbondale,Colorado. After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, he went to work for Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph in Colorado Springs. He became the company's first ever in-company Management Consultant. After several years, he started his own consulting firm known as A.O. Bud Ham Consulting.
In the mid-1980's, he was sent the three volumes of A Course in Miracles by a California dentist he had befriended. The dentist later told Bud, "I was told to send the books to you." The Manual for Teachers was Bud's first experience with the Course.
Bud has been a member of several Protestant churches and was most active in the Episcopal Church. After studying the life of Edgar Cayce, he started out on a different spiritual path. He studied Sathya Sai Baba and Siddha Yoga and was even an atheist for several years. However, he finally concluded that A Course in Miracles was his spiritual path.
Bud has written and published two spiritual self-help books. His second book, Changing Places to Another Right Place, is currently available in RMMC's book store.
Bud's recent study has included an immersion into The Jeshua Letters and The Way of Mastery. He wants people to know that anything in his personal life or spiritual journey is open for discussion.
Susan Dugan
A student and teacher of A Course in Miracles, Susan Dugan is author of Extraordinary Oridinary Forgiveness (available in RMMC's bookstore), a collection of personal essays about practicing the Course's extraordinary, transformative forgiveness in an ordinary life. She is also author of Safe Haven, a collection of linked short stories. She posts weekly about juggling work, family and forgiveness at her website: www.foraysinforgiveness.com, where she offers regular interviews with premier Course scholar, teacher and prolific author, Kenneth Wapnick, PhD, and others.
She is co-founder of the School of Reason for A Course in Miracles' teachers and students www.school ofreason.org in Denver, Colorado. She speaks about ACIM on Wednesdays, 3-4pm Mountain Time, at the online radio program www.ACIMGatherRadio.org. She also appears in the doumentary A Course inMiracles: The Movie, along with other Course teachers including Nouk Sanchez and Tomas Vieira, Take Me to Truth: Undoing the Ego, Ken Wapnick and Gary Renard, best-selling author of The Disappearance of the Universe.
Susan comes to the teaching with a deep longing to know, and a deepening, welcome understanding that knowing comes from beyond the self we think we are. For Susan, the Course's unique power lies in its practical application which delivers a new kind of compassion: the recognition that everyone is fighting a hard battle and yearning to go home. Teaching helps her become more vigilant in practicing the unique form of forgiveness at the heart of A Course in Miracles. She is most interested in teachings classes geared toward the transformative experience that springs from applying the Course in our relationships; thereby, healing our minds about a world of separate interests.

David Morrissey
David was born and raised in Dodge City, Kansas and educated K-12, and then 4 years of college at St Mary’s of the Plains, under the careful tutelage of the Sisters of St. Joseph. He moved his fast growing family to Colorado in the early 70’s and spent the next decade climbing the financial ladder. Then one day his heart was broken when he realized all that he had chased and acquired just wasn’t going to make him happy. His spiritual journey began.
David studied and was ordained a Divine Science Minister in 1988. A Course in Miracles was dangled in front of him twice before he bit. It offered him the mind training and discipline he had been seeking. Before he finished the first 365 lessons he knew he had to teach, for he truly believed in the equality of the teacher and the student. Every Thursday for the next 13 years his class met at the Divine Science Church reborn as the Rocky Mountain Miracle Center.
David continues to talk and live the Course. “The law of perception means we are always seeing our state of mind rather than what is there to be seen,” he says. “We are as God created us and there isn’t anything we can do to alter that–thank God.”
Joy Schultz
I grew up in Illinois and was raised in the Christian Science church which I loved very much. In my later teen years I wandered away and followed no spiritual path until I picked up the Course in 1986. I have been looking to it for guidance, light, and healing ever since. Since the fall of 2005 I have been leading a weekly group.
I love the Course deeply. I love sharing the ideas with others because it helps me so much and it helps me to learn it. As the Course says "What higher function can there possibly be than to help release the world from pain and fear?"
In 2004, my 17 year old son took his life. Everything in my life was suspended. I spent much time with the Course, feeling the presence of Jesus and asking for his help. While I am incredibly grateful for the tremendous peace and healing I have been given, I realize I still have much to learn, practice, and heal.
Merry Lynn first became acquainted with A Coursein Miracles in 1969. From 1975-1978, Merry had an internship with Dr. Kenneth Walker, a contemporary of Ernest Holmes. She studied "12 Steps to Higher Mysticism". Then, in 1982, she became an avid student of The Course and has taught one and two-year Study Groups over the past 25 years. She has written the Study Guide for: A Course in Miracles which hasbeen officially copyright and published.
She received her Ph.D in Transpersonal Psychology in 1989 from Columbia Pacific University. She takes great joy in her teaching and her students have appreciated her creative way of teaching the Course. Merry likes to include other mystics and the material of other Course students in her teachings.
Merry says the only requirement for her class is "A sincere desire to resign now as your own teacher." She believes what is said in the Course that "Your learning potential, properly understood, is limitless because it will lead you to God." (T-12.V.9:1)
Jeanne Thomason
After my brother died unexpectedly, I was ready for A Course in Miracles.
Learning from many teachers, I deepened my understanding of A Course in Miracles by reading books and listening to tapes by Ken Wapnick. That is the reason, at 10 am on Thursdays, I feature Ken Wapnick’s video of the text.
